Welcome to the 2026 Blueberry Season

There is something special about the weeks leading up to blueberry season.
The field starts waking up, the rows begin to fill in, and little by little the berries start turning from green to that beautiful bl
ueberry blue we all wait for. Around here, this is the season of watching, waiting, mowing, trimming, planning, checking the weather, and walking the rows to see how things are coming along.
And we are happy to share that the 2026 blueberry season is getting close.
We are still a few weeks out from opening, but the berries are ripening right on schedule. Every season is a little different, and we never like to rush Mother Nature, but things are looking good. As soon as we have an official opening date, we will share it on our website, our Facebook page, and our voicemail message.
This time of year is full of behind-the-scenes work that most people never see. Before the first bucket is filled, there are hours and hours spent preparing the field, cleaning things up, getting the Shack ready, checking supplies, updating signs, planning market days, and making sure we are ready to welcome everyone back.
It is a lot of work, but it is also one of our favorite times of year because it means blueberry season is almost here.
This season will also feel a little different for us.

Many of you know that we lost Tucker, our sweet farm dog, last fall. Tucker was only eight weeks old when we started putting the blueberry field in, so he really knew no other life than being our blueberry boy. He grew up in the rows, at the Shack, and alongside all of you who visited the farm year after year.
Tucker loved people. He loved seeing familiar faces, meeting new friends, getting pets, and soaking up all the attention he could. Thank you to everyone who loved him right along with us. He was such a big part of our farm story, and we know many of you will miss seeing him this season too.
Some of you may even remember when Tucker was allowed to wander the field during u-pick. He loved it. He would visit with guests, happily accept a few berries, and enjoy every minute of being part of the action. Then, like all good Labs do, he took it one step too far and started helping himself to blueberries from the kids’ buckets.
That was when Tucker’s field privileges changed, and he became more of a Shack dog with Bob and me.
Do not worry, though. He still had plenty of time in the field, and he never missed a chance to clean up every dropped blueberry he could find.
As we begin the 2026 season without him, we are grateful for all the memories, all the stories, and all the love so many of you showed him over the years.
We are also grateful for another season ahead.
Thank you for supporting our farm, sharing our posts, placing orders, visiting us at the markets, bringing your families to u-pick, and making Up North Blueberry Farm part of your summer traditions.
We will continue to post updates as we get closer to opening day. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and check our website for the most current information.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
