Blueberry Season Update: Only a Few U-Pick Dates Remain
Blueberry season is moving quickly, and we anticipate having only two or three more U-Pick dates spread out over the next two weeks.
Our next U-Pick will be:
Saturday, August 8 Beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until all ripe berries have been harvested
As always, closing time will depend on how quickly the field is picked. Please check our website or Facebook page for the latest updates before driving to the farm.
This weekend, the blueberries available at our farmers markets and on the farm porch will be our wonderfully sweet varieties. After that, we will begin transitioning into our late-season variety, which is naturally a little more tart and especially good for baking, jams, sauces and freezing.
Now is the time to stock your freezer! Blueberry season will be over before we know it, and there is nothing better than having Up North Blueberry Farm berries available for smoothies, pancakes, muffins and other treats all winter long.
Pre-ordering is the best way to make sure you receive the quantity you need. You can place an order for pickup at the Boyne City Farmers Market, the Gaylord Farmers Market or from the porch at the farm. Please remember that we need advance notice to pick and prepare your berries, so get those orders in early!
Thank you for your incredible support of our small family farm. We appreciate every visit, purchase, pre-order, kind word and shared post. You have helped make this another wonderful blueberry season for us.
